Tuber goes missing in Snoqualmie River |

King County, WA - A 36-year-old Kirkland man is missing and presumed drowned after he fell off his inner tube while rafting on the Snoqualmie River below Snoqualmie Falls Monday evening.
According to the King County Sheriff’s Office the man, whose name is not being released, was inner-tubing with three companions when he reportedly fell out of his tube at about 5:50 p.m. The three companions were able to make it safely to shore.
Neither the victim nor the companions were wearing life jackets, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The river downstream from the incident was searched until dark by the Sheriff’s Office Marine Diver’s Swift Water Rescue Unit and Eastside Fire and Rescue Swift Water Rescue team.
According to a press release, all western Washington rivers are currently running very high and fast, and are considered “exceedingly dangerous” right now.
“There will be no recovery efforts until the water flow on the Snoqualmie River recedes,” the release stated, “as it is too dangerous for rescuers.”
