This five-day course meets the requirements for the technician level of National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) 1670 Standard for technical rope incidents.

This is one day of classroom instruction followed by three days in the field. Students will advance from basic over-the-bank rescues to progressively more vertical or high angle rope rescue scenarios.

Students are trained in the following: preplanning, size-up for rope rescue operations, knots, hitches and anchor systems, belay operations, ascending and descending, raising and lowering systems, patient packaging and litter attending among other disciplines.
