Swift Water Rescue Called At Sarg Hubbard Park, WA PDF Print E-mail
Yakima, WA -- With local rivers rising, Yakima Sheriff Deputies got a call about four rafters in distress.
Their inflatable raft reportedly overturned in the swift current, but all made it out and are now said to be okay.

On Sunday night a swimmer almost drowned in Yakima's Sarg Hubbard Park.

Yakima Deputies say the swimmer became tired because of old injuries. He called for help and two friends tried to assist him, but they ended up getting pulled under by the man in trouble. They backed off, but another man jumped in and was able to help everyone move toward shore.

The Swift Water Rescue team then arrived and pulled them all out.

Officials are issuing another warning: flooding rivers and lakes are not the way to cool off right now. The danger is too great and people are advised to keep out of the water until runoff levels fall.
