Boulder Co, CO - Boulder County sheriff's officials are warning people to be cautious
about entering Boulder Creek this weekend after rescuing a 26-year-old
man who spent an hour stranded in the high waters Friday.
Sheriff's officials and rescue crews from Four Mile Protection District, Boulder Fire Department and the Boulder Emergency Squad's Swift Water Rescue Group responded to 38619 Boulder Canyon Drive at 4:54 p.m. Friday after receiving reports of a stranded tuber.
Jason Friedman, 26, had been tubing in the creek when his innertube snagged on a rock and deflated, officials said in a news release. Friedman was able to swim to a rock in the middle of the creek, but unable to reach shore.
The Swift Water Rescue Group was able to get Friedman out of the creek using a rope rescue, officials said. He was uninjured.
Last weekend, officials issued a high water warning for Boulder Creek, warning that swimming, wading and tubing could be dangerous.
