AZLE - Five members of the Azle Fire Department helped rescue a family – including a pregnant woman in labor... in southern Parker County during heavy rainstorms April 23.
High water had surrounded a home in Lake Country Acres when the Azle department received a call for mutual aid from Parker County, Azle fire marshal Kenny Wilson said this week.
Mutual aid is an agreement between neighboring fire departments and, in this case, counties, to send equipment and personnel when requested.

A woman in the home was in labor, and rescuers with Parker County Search and Rescue (PCSAR) were called in at about 8:30 that Wednesday evening for the rescue, Wilson said.
The water quickly began to recede, he said, and adult members of the family walked with rescuers across “moving water” to safety, Wilson said.
Lance Heath, a volunteer, Wilson, Randy Pickett and John Behm are members of PCSAR.
Azle fire chief Will Scott was also on hand.
Azle’s swiftwater rescuers train with the PCSAR to maintain their certification and to satisfy state requirements for continuing education.
